Yolanda De Souza
Well known in India and gaining a reputation internationally Yolanda’s unique use of acrylics gives her pictures the appearance of a jigsaw of ceramics glued together. Her pictures are highly influenced by the history and culture of her Goan roots.
Born and brought up in Goa, India, where she still lives today, Yolanda graduated from the University of Bombay with a degree in Fine Arts. Having worked as a Senior Designer for the government of Goa, she resigned in 1997 to concentrate on her art.
Originally Yolanda’s choice of medium was oils and watercolours but the Football World Cup in 2002 inspired her to experiment with acrylics and it is the use of this medium which has established her as a recognised artist both in India and worldwide. She has exhibited not only throughout India, but also in Russia and most recently in London.
We are delighted to have a collection of signed limited edition copies of Yolanda’s exhibition ‘Faces and Phases’.
